The Daily Journal in Tupelo is looking for a creative page designer. Knowledge of InDesign is required. Photoshop, Illustrator and experience designing informational graphics a plus. Basic knowledge of AP style and the ability to proof is also a plus. Must be willing to work nights, weekends and some holidays.

The candidate must be a reliable self-starter with an eye for design. Candidate must be able to work collaboratively with other designers, photographers, editors and reporters on various projects. Must be comfortable designing a variety of sections on deadline. The ability to think critically and apply problem-solving skills a plus.

A bachelor's degree in journalism, graphic design, art, English, communications or marketing required.

This is a full-time position offering a salary relevant to experience, insurance, 401K benefits and paid vacation.

The Daily Journal is a 30,000-circulation, locally-owned newspaper focused on both print and digital growth. We combine efforts with our sister weekly papers to cover the 16 counties in Northeast Mississippi. The department produces a daily newspaper, four weekly newspapers and various magazines and special sections throughout the year.

Tupelo is a progressive small city located within easy driving distance of Memphis and Birmingham and about an hour from both the University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University.
