The Argosy division of Simplify Compliance is seeking a skilled reporter who has experience covering a regulatory beat and who thrives under the pressure of deadlines to become a key contributor to Regulatory Compliance Watch, the nation’s leading B2B online compliance service and weekly publication focused on compliance for financial services firms, including investment advisers, broker-dealers and private funds.

The right candidate has a passion for source-driven journalism, has strong organizational skills, has excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and can thrive in a team environment, while being self-motivated.


  • Covering key regulatory agencies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and the National Futures Association.
  • Generating story ideas on a weekly basis that answer key challenges currently faced by our audience.
  • Cultivating and interviewing critical industry sources.
  • Suggesting trending topics for timely webinars and live conferences, securing speakers and moderating such events.
  • Displaying excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Contributing to product development initiatives based on industry feedback.

Required Skills and Experience

  • BA in Communicayions or Journalism
  • Thrives in a team environment but is a skilled, self-motivated self-starter who can work autonomously.
  • Is deadline-oriented and can deliver stellar content under the pressure of daily/weekly deadlines.
  • Has proficient computer skills (eg. fluent with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat)

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience covering the SEC, CFTC, FINRA and NFA.
  • Accomplished at using social media platforms (eg. Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube).
