KVAL-TV, in Eugene, Oregon, is seeking an Engineer.

A qualified candidate will coordinate or perform maintenance of computer and broadcast equipment of television broadcasting station by performing the following duties:

  • Maintain equipment repair records, station schematics and flow charts
  • Perform alignments and component level repairs on equipment
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain inventory and parts acquisition requests as needed
  • Maintain software/hardware inventory
  • Schedule equipment for routine and preventative maintenance
  • Share in routine inspection and documentation of all transmission facilities in accordance with FCC
  • Installation and basic operational knowledge of audio, video and communication equipment
  • Evaluate and recommend equipment for purchase
  • Assist Engineering team with digital systems installation and operations
  • Assist Engineering team with maintaining office network
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Engineer
  • On call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of electronics sufficient to interpret and draw schematics
  • Applicable broadcast experience; minimum two years preferred
  • Working knowledge of computers and software
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Strong attention to details
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision
  • Oregon driver’s license, insurable at standard rates
