If you are a hands-on leader with a passion for quality journalism, great storytelling, and an eye for compelling showcasing we have a great job for you! CBS/Telemundo Austin is looking for an Bilingual Executive Producer to oversee our award winning nightside newscasts on both stations. The ideal candidate has a passion for news, a strong background in television news production, and a vision for how to provide viewers with fresh, interesting, relevant content every day. We expect our Executive Producers to find new ways of incorporating digital content into our daily coverage. The ideal candidate is a supportive leader who will help grow our competitive and innovative culture in both CBS and Telemundo Austin.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce shows/script reviews
  • Work closely with our digital leads to produce content for multimedia platforms.
  • Manage and train other producers
  • Focus reporters into developing compelling, exclusive stories that make a difference for our viewers.
  • Special projects
  • Plan and overseeing continuity into upcoming newscasts
  • Provide input and constructive oversight for our team on story selection and presentation
  • Review reporter scripts for creativity and accuracy, and coaching the team on owning coverage of breaking news
  • Implement strategic initiatives
  • Manage measurement metrics
  • Showcase weather, and creating an energetic newscast
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree in journalism or communications preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years related experience in a similar role
  • Excellent writing skills in English and Spanish
  • Proven track record for getting results on initiatives
  • Great people skills with an emphasis on coaching and motivating
