The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is seeking a Director of Multimedia who manages the staff that produces photography, video, podcasts and multimedia for the newsroom.

The director must be highly organized and a passionate advocate of all forms of visual storytelling. The director will manage the daily assignments for the photo staff and coordinate with the print and digital teams.

The director oversees the daily photo production, special projects, the photography/video staff and interns. The director also is responsible for the department's administrative duties that include managing the budget and personnel.  The director must possess skills across news platforms for visual storytelling, including photography and video. A key part of the job is being a creative source for visual storytelling ideas and then executing that coverage in collaboration with other newsroom editors.

The director must have strong visual and management skills to supervise a veteran, award-winning team of visual journalists. Collaboration, communication and planning are essential skills.   The director must be fluent in current visual technology and strive to keep the newsroom abreast of emerging changes such as use of a drone, WiFi equipped cameras and video platforms.

Candidates should have at least five years experience as a supervising photo editor.
