The Real Deal, the largest news outlet for the real estate industry in the country, is looking for a Freelance Contributing Reporter to join our team. With over 2.5 million web visits a month, and a readership of more than 150,000 for our print publications, is the go-to news source for the city’s top real estate, finance, architecture and investment professionals. Our award-winning coverage includes breaking news, investigative stories, market reports and long-form narrative profiles and trend pieces.

The position requires working about 80 hours per month, primarily in the first two weeks of the month. The candidate will write and report for the magazine’s regular monthly sections, including Q&As, reported anecdotes on the most colorful industry gossip of the month, and a front-of-the-book feature that digs into the hidden figures beyond the biggest real estate stories. As a Contributing Reporter, opportunities will be available to contribute originally reported stories for the web and magazine, and freelance longer pieces outside of business hours.
