The University of Massachusetts Amherst has an opening for a Web Content Manager within the Office of Development. This position will be responsible for creating and executing new and interesting web content with a focus on increasing awareness of and support for the University's fundraising priorities. Under the direction of the Senior Director of Development Communications, this position is responsible for overseeing, improving, and maintaining development's website and other associated digital media.


Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in humanities, marketing, communication, information design, technology or related field (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in the same) and one year of experience using various social media and website content management tools. Familiarity with applications such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, WordPress, Livestream, Foursquare etc.; demonstrated experience with project management; ability to follow-up, and follow-through on project requirements and meet deadlines; strong attention to detail, flexible, positive, and proactive under pressure; ability to work independently, problem solve, take initiative, set priorities, handle multiple projects, and exercise good judgment in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment in an organized and professional manner.

Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with typography and cross platform website style standards and best practices for site design, function, and usability; highly motivated with a passion for writing for the web (blogging, tweeting, commenting, etc.) and discovering new digital platforms and apps; design skills (including Illustrator) and video capturing and editing skills (Final Cut Pro, iMovie), and digital photography skills; knowledge of Drupal.
