KLEW is looking for our next news producer who will also anchor our 11 p.m. daily newscasts. This is an entry-level position but there are a few basic skills you need to have when you come to the table. This is not a job "just to be on TV". This is a job where you will be able to jump to your next market with solid producing, reporting, and anchoring skills but only if you apply yourself during your time here. You also need to have a basic understanding of what is news worthy, and should be able to tell a story with images and good writing. Desire to work hard, show integrity, and independence is also a must.

Requirements:

  • Ability to carry yourself on camera professionally and deliver stories clearly
  • Must maintain professional attitude and manner in and out of the newsroom
  • Must have a good basic understanding of news judgment
  • Must have the desire to gather local news in our community and be part of the KLEW News team
  • Must also have strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
  • Flexibility and on-the-spot problems solving abilities are a must
  • Journalism degree is preferred
  • Proficient with non-linear editing (i.e. Avid) and newsroom systems, such as iNews
