Are you looking for a job where the staff is growing, rather than suffering through layoff after layoff? The Mail Tribune and its sister paper, the Ashland Daily Tidings, located in beautiful Southern Oregon, are growing under a new, local owner and bringing page design back in-house. We're looking for a page designer/copy editor with preferably daily newspaper experience who can create bold, lively sections with good balance, headlines that pop and informative/attractive graphic elements that will augment our news and features pages. Must be a courteous team player, work quickly and adeptly under deadline pressure, be well-versed in AP style and have a sharp eye for catching mistakes. InDesign proficiency a plus. Shifts are at night.

We offer a competitive benefits package, ample vacation to start and sick leave, and a supportive environment to develop talent.

Send resume, cover letter and five samples of your design work by Jan. 18 to Copy Desk Chief Justin Umberson at
