The Holland Sentinel, a six-day daily print and digital publication in West Michigan, is looking for a managing editor to help grow its online and print readership.

This individual must have excellent communication skills, proven copy editing experience as well as strong news judgment. You would collaborate with the editor, digital editor and reporting staff on a daily basis for both print and online news coverage. 

We are looking for a hard-working, self-motivated and competitive person with the interest and drive to take our team to new levels in both print and digital publishing. You will be expected to be on call some nights and weekends.


  • A bachelor’s degree in journalism or communications
  • 5 years experience writing or editing at a daily print publication
  • Strong editing, AP Style and headline-writing skills
  • Knowledge of CMS and social media strategies 

Preferred skills:

  • Experience planning a print publication
  • Knowledge of page design and photo editing software
