WOAI/KABB has a great opportunity for you! We are looking for interns for our Investigative News Department for the 2018 Spring semester. Qualified candidates should also be planning and preparing for a job in news. We are looking for highly motivated, dedicated students who are looking to get the most out of their internship experience. You must be eligible to receive college credit to participate in this internship, and be at least 18 years of age and enrolled as a Junior or Senior in College/University, preferably working towards a degree in Journalism or Communications. Graduate students may apply as well. Credit Verification forms will be provided. This internship is unpaid.

-a general working knowledge of all levels of multi-media journalism

-candidates must be able to receive college credit for the internship, this internship is UNPAID.

-Two multi-media samples (please attach)

*if they are video clips, please provide links

-Three references that include name, phone number and email address

Responsibilities:

-set up, conduct, and log interviews

-assist and write stories

-assist in social media reporting/posts

-conduct research for stories

Required Skills:

- Communication skills: Candidates should be able to speak, write and listen well. Presentation skills are also key as is the ability to respond to criticisms and questions.

- Computer/technical skills: Just as candidates should be able to read and write, candidates need to be familiar with computers. Expectations for proficiency with many applications continue to rise.

- Teamwork: Candidates should work well with different people while still being in control of some of their own assignments.

- Personal traits: Candidates should have initiative, be motivated, adaptable to change, industrious, honest and be able to juggle tasks.
