The Lincoln Journal Star is looking to hire a versatile journalist interested in telling stories of a growing city and working within a team of editors to coordinate local news coverage for digital and print platforms.

As swing producer/coordinator, you’ll have the unique opportunity to write byline stories and also work in an editing role, specifically managing weeknight coverage of breaking news. Hours for the position are generally Monday through Friday, 12:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

- We want a go-getter who can be a regular contributor to coverage of Lincoln’s business scene, including a burgeoning startup community.
- This position includes a growth opportunity – working as part of the editing team as a bridge between day and night editors and helping lead our response to breaking news events.
- This person must be collaborative and creative with a commitment to engaging our loyal audience and drawing in new readers on all platforms.
- Previous reporting experience is preferred, but recent grads who can demonstrate a high level of editing ability and have successfully completed internships are encouraged to apply.
