Larson Newspapers is seeking a full-time photojournalist at the biweekly Sedona Red Rock News. Sedona is located in the Verde Valley of Northern Arizona, 45 minutes south of Flagstaff and two hours north of Phoenix.

A photography degree or experience working at a newspaper or print publication is necessary. Knowledge of AP Style preferred for photo caption writing.

Assignments include a diverse range of photos, including breaking news, feature portraits, social functions, investigative news stories, public meetings, landscape photography, high school sports and event coverage. Please have examples of these topics in your portfolio when applying. Schedule is very flexible. We provide professional-level camera gear (Nikon), but applicants are welcome to use their own.

Coverage area is Sedona with some backup coverage of our second photojournalist who covers Cottonwood, Jerome, Clarkdale and Camp Verde for two sister weekly newspapers, The Camp Verde Journal and the Cottonwood Journal Extra. Newsrooms are located in Sedona and Cottonwood.Basic social media posting of photo content also preferred. Small, close-knit staff, family-owned 55-year-old community newspaper.
