The Owatonna People’s Press is looking for a top-notch reporter. We won’t settle for the ordinary. We need a reporter who’s equally comfortable covering hard news, doing investigative reporting and crafting compelling features as well as knowing the ins and outs of social media.

The People’s Press is a 6,000 circulation, award-winning five-day daily an hour south of the Twin Cities in Minnesota.

The successful applicant will have insatiable curiosity, an excellent grasp of open records/meeting law and a demonstrated knowledge of how multimedia enhances reporting. Reporters who thrive on reactive, institutional stories need not apply.

Other requirements include:

  • Four-year post-secondary degree in related field, or comparable practical experience in a work environment.
  • Experience using a wide degree of social media tools, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and SnapChat.
  • Technical competence with Word and Web-based content management.

The Owatonna People’s Press is part of APG Media of Southern Minnesota, LLC, a division of family-owned Adams Publishing Group.
