Description:
The Levin Graduate Institute of International Relations and Commerce (State University of New York) is a distinct, elite educational entity located in Manhattan that offers unique perspectives on research and education in the areas of cross-border management, the global talent pool, executive education, and other global innovation areas.

The successful candidate will work directly with the Director of Conferences, and Special Events at the Neil D. Levin Graduate Institute of International Relations and Commerce, part of the State University of New York. The Institute is located in Manhattan.

Responsibilities include:

· Assistance in organizing conferences and events, including determination of appropriate participants, coordination of presentation materials, management of travel and hotel accommodations, invitation process including maintenance of electronic mailing lists, distribution of electronic invitations, monitoring responses and roster creation.
· Handling event logistics including room arrangement, food and beverage selection, staffing, speaker needs etc.
· Ability to quickly and cogently summarize event proceedings for the Institute’s website, newsletter and other publications. Must also take photos of events.
· Working with the Institute’s A/V team in the content and production of video conferencing events with speakers and audiences in remote locations.
· In house design of materials, including event announcements and invitations. Some will be distributed electronically, some in printed form, requiring coordination with the company that handles the Institute’s printing.

Qualifications:
· Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required.
· A minimum of two years experience in conference and event planning or related field.
· Candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of constituencies.
· Must possess strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately. Attention to detail is crucial.
· Must be familiar with international affairs.
· Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
· Knowledge of Adobe In-Design a plus.
