Description:
Family-owned, Southwestern Colorado newspaper group seeks an energetic news leader to continue the strong emphasis on community coverage at one of our weekly publications. We seek someone with a college degree, newsroom experience, strong grammar, punctuation and style skills, page-design experience and familiarity with InDesign, minimal need for supervision and editing, and dedication to producing an interesting, relevant community paper. A love for small-town life is essential.

The Star is a one-person newsroom and an important influence in the community. The editor has an opportunity to report on a wide variety of topics relevant to the community, including education, growth, environmental issues, public lands and outdoor recreation, law enforcement, the arts and everyday life. Coverage is local, local, local, but reporting on important regional issues is done in collaboration with three sister papers.
