Description:

The Day and theday.com are looking for an enthusiastic, idea-driven multimedia journalist who has a unique visual eye in video storytelling.

 

The principal requirement is experience in shooting, editing and posting web video, using Final Cut Pro. Candidates should be familiar with and able to produce and edit multimedia content including photo galleries and panoramas. Experience with live-stream video and high-impact still photography are a plus.

 

The multimedia journalist will participate in The Day’s social media efforts to grow our audience on platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

 

Job responsibilities and skills required for the position:

 

  • Good news judgment in addition to strong visual and technology skills
  • Flexibility in hours and desire to cover breaking news, feature and sports stories as a videographer
  • Collaborative journalist, who brings ideas to daily news meetings and online discussions
  • Ability as a mentor to expand the newsroom pool of video-capable colleagues and social media promotion best practices
  • Ability to post online content to theday.com
