You are: A smart, creative and skilled writer and copyeditor with a natural multi-tasking instinct and a fear of boredom. You are great under pressure, independent but you know when to ask the right questions. You are driven, organized and detailed oriented. You are web-savvy; in fact, you love social media and have experience with Facebook, Twitter, content management systems and WordPress. You have journalism experience and you can write everything from punny headlines to pithy blurbs to long-form news features (if you can't, you are ready to learn). You have a nose for news. You have some experience with Adobe Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. You have potential: You may not have a ton of experience but you are ready to dive into the magazine world. You know your AP style. You have journalism standards (so do we).

Your role: The associate editor is responsible for updating and maintaining the calendar of events on the web and in print; uploading articles to the website and managing the Facebook and Twitter sites; assisting the graphics department on deadline; research, copy-editing and fact-checking; writing news features, monthly features and special sections as assigned; and assisting the editor in chief with various tasks for the magazine and website. We are looking for someone who is willing and able to jump in and help with whatever jobs come up. We need someone who is willing to do overtime--when needed--and they find exhilaration in the stress of deadline. You will be rewarded for your dedication and hard work with raises as well as company house accounts and extra time off.

We are: A glossy, general interest monthly magazine in Colorado. We cover everything from news and politics to restaurants, pets, entertainment and recreation.

The details: Full-time, On site

Starting Pay: $28-$34,000 DOE annually with performance reviews available at 3, 6 and 12 months to increase over the first year.
