The Times is seeking a copy editor/page designer who can wear both hats with skill and pride. We want a committed journalist with strong news judgment who knows how a story should read and can craft headlines and packages to bring them to life. We want a designer who can convey information through visual images in a clean, compelling manner on pages that pop.
In addition to producing daily pages, copy editors will take part in special sections, projects and magazines, and also package content on our website. The hours? Well, it’s a copydesk so they’re lousy: evenings, weekends and holidays, but we share the load evenly.
The work environment? A creative, free-flowing newsroom where innovation is welcomed and everyone is part of the decision-making process. We offer competitive pay, benefits and 401(k). We work alongside Lake Lanier and the beautiful Northeast Georgia mountains, less than an hour from Atlanta and Athens.
Newsroom experience is preferred, along with knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and related programs; recent college graduates in a relevant field will be considered. If you’re a motivated night owl anxious to get to work, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
