Description: The Tennessean is looking for a dynamic business reporter to cover the music industry in Nashville. The city has built a global reputation for producing great music, and its influence is expanding far beyond its country roots. Whether it’s the Black Keys, Jack White or the Kings of Leon, the local music industry is brimming with diverse talent from a number of genres. Overall, the industry has a $4 billion economic impact on the city, and employs thousands of workers around the city. It is the signature industry for Music City. Nashville is a city that has a great cost of living and an even better quality of life. The city was recently cited as the ‘it city’ in The New York Times. This is a tough job, but a tremendous opportunity for the right reporter. What are we looking for? We are looking for a reporter who is comfortable thinking digital first (think video and social media), able to multi-task and someone who would rather be out making connections than being chained to a desk. Visibility in the community is paramount. We are looking for someone who doesn’t like to lose and who wants to be known as the reporter in Nashville for music industry coverage. If that is you, please send your resume and 5 examples of your work that best illustrate why you are the perfect fit to Business Editor Lance Williams at lwilliams@tennessean.com.
