Are you Fierce? We have an editorial position with solid career growth prospects with the news team at FierceBiotech/FiercePharma-- the most widely read and circuated life sciences news media titles in the world. Position available ASAP.

We’re seeking a full-time Associate Editor/Reporter to become an integral part of our daily news gathering and reporting operations for FierceBiotech and FiercePharma. Together, these are read daily by 110,000 key industry readers across the entire life sciences industry. You'll be learning the life sciences industry and best practices in online media (web, newsletter, and social) from our veteran team while simultaneously putting that knowledge to work for our readership. Your work will be critical ensuring that all news coverage is grammatically clean, well written, and provides only the most need-to-know news and information to busy biotech and pharmaceutical executives.

DAILY TASKS INCLUDE

- Copyediting content submitted by Fierce editors
- Once up to speed, writing stories on a specific beat
- Optimizing content with links and context for reader satisfaction
- Researching and collecting data for longer form special content as assigned
- Social media monitoring

MUST HAVE JOB SKILLS:

- Professional experience as a writer/editor (business reporting preferable)
- Above average grammar and spelling skills.
- Crafty web searching techniques
- Loves good writing, can spot bad writing instinctively
- Ability to construct in words ideas and concepts in a concise manner
- Ability to make deadlines consistently
- Quick study, willingness to learn a myriad of systems
- An instinct for asking the right questions in order to educate your readers
- Fierce attitude

GREAT TO HAVE JOB SKILLS:
- Applicable knowledge of basic HTML/CSS syntax and creation
- Knowledge of the pharma or biotech industries
- Good with web graphic optimization
