The Daily Business Review, a daily (M-F) Miami based publication of ALM, seeks an energetic and experienced Business Of Law Writer.

Responsibilities:

Cover the Florida legal market.

Responsible for daily and feature Web and print news stories about South Florida law firms operating in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties and Florida Bar regulatory actions.

Contribute items to the weekly Dealmakers and Top Verdicts report. During year, at least four Monday cover stories in Business of Law field.

Must also develop DBR annual special reports such as Review 100 financial assessment, Managing Partners Survey, Lawyers Compensation and Corporate Counsel Compensation. Also expected to contribute to annual Most Effective Lawyers and Top Dealmakers special reports.

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in journalism, business or political science

At least three to five years of experience in business news reporting.

Experience should include reporting on economic trends, regulation, financial matters and public traded companies. Prior experience covering law firms a plus.

Strong quantitative analysis skills, ability to interpret survey results draw conclusions for news stories.

Demonstrate strong ability to work under deadline and write for both Web and print, and show multi-media skills such as gathering information via audio and video

Ability to develop sources and network in regions legal community.

Ability to report on business transactions and regulation.

Ability to adopt and work in Adobe InCopy content management system.

Knowledge of Spanish would be helpful.
