Visiting Assistant Professor of Advertising, Spring 2010 School of Mass Communication and Journalism, The University of Southern Mississippi

The School of Mass Communication and Journalism at The University of Southern Mississippi seeks a visiting faculty member for the spring of 2010. This is a one-semester, non-tenure-track appointment. The successful applicant will teach three undergraduate courses in advertising: Advertising Creative Strategy, Mass Media Research and Advertising Campaigns (the senior capstone course for advertising majors).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in advertising or mass communication. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in advertising or mass communication Experience teaching advertising at the undergraduate level Experience working professionally in advertising.

The School of Mass Communication and Journalism - is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication - serves approximately 470 undergraduate students and houses BA programs in advertising, broadcast journalism, film, media production, photojournalism, print journalism and public relations - offers master’s degrees in mass communication and public relations and the doctorate in mass communication - embraces the diversity of its student body and the opportunity to educate students who are the first from their families to attend college or are from demographic groups that lack representation in the mass media.
