Description:
ConsumerSearch.com is part of The New York Times family of companies. Launched in 1999, ConsumerSearch is designed to be the best starting place for any consumer aiming to research purchase decisions. ConsumerSearch has been recognized for excellence by a wide variety of organizations, including Time Magazine, PC Magazine, the Webby's and other publications and groups.

Job Requirements or Qualifications: ConsumerSearch.com (part of About.com and The New York Times family of companies) is seeking freelance writers and editors to update our current product reviews in two areas:

AUTOMOTIVE: We're looking for writers with experience or a strong interest in finding out which cars and trucks are best and why. You need not have direct experience writing automotive reviews, but you should be familiar with automotive journalism and publications, and have a working knowledge of the industry in general.

CELL PHONES: We're also looking for writers to update and create new reviews of cell phones, accessories and cell-phone plans. You don't need to have prior experience writing about telecommunications, but you should have some experience covering electronics or gadgets, and be genuinely interested in phones and cell technology.

Both types of contributors need to be detail oriented, critical and organized; must be able to adapt to our format and tone. Assignments are research-heavy in a 'leave-no-stone-unturned' kind of way. We like the kind of people that would spend 25 hours researching toasters or Blu-ray players before buying one. Resourcefulness, strong research abilities and fact-finding skills are required. Read a report or two on our site to see what we do.

Be sure to visit our Cell Phone [http://www.consumersearch.com/cell-phones] and Auto sections [http://www.consumersearch.com/automotive] and read some of our reviews.

See our 'About Us' page for more on how we compile the most comprehensive product reviews online. http://www.consumersearch.com/about
