Ignites, the leading publication covering the mutual fund industry, is seeking an experienced and accomplished journalist with five years of online trade journalism experience to cover the retirement and variable annuity industries. We are looking for a smart, enthusiastic team player who can consistently break news and has a proven ability to meet daily deadlines.

Ideal candidates will have an in-depth knowledge of the retirement industry, including the leading companies and product trends. This person should be accustomed to reporting and writing clear, easy-to-read stories on complex topics under daily deadlines. The ability to generate exclusive news coverage and manage a pipeline of stories is a must. Candidates should have experience conducting on-camera interviews and a demonstrated ability to speak publicly at industry forums and conferences.

Qualifications:

At least five years online trade journalism experience. At least two years of reporting and writing for a daily publication. At least two years experience covering financial services, preferably 401(k) plans, mutual funds and insurance products. Proven ability to develop a network of sources that has generated exclusive coverage. Ability to research and write a minimum of three articles per week. Ability to confidently and intelligently speak about various aspects of the retirement and insurance industries in public forums and conferences. Ability to successfully balance multiple deadlines. Must be able to generate and manage a pipeline of stories.
