The Pew Charitable Trusts, an independent nonprofit, is driven by the power of knowledge to solve today’s most challenging problems. The Pew Health Group (PHG) seeks to improve the health and well being of all Americans. Based on research and critical analysis, the Pew Health Group advocates policies that reduce unacceptable risks, especially in food, medical, financial and consumer products. This position will report to the deputy director and is based in Washington, D.C.

The Senior Officer, Research is responsible for investigating and developing new programmatic opportunities and initiatives for Pew Health Group. Primary responsibilities include: indentifying areas where Pew’s advocacy and research can make a significant and positive impact on health and consumer policy; building the case for these ideas through in depth written and oral presentations; conducting stakeholder and legislative analysis; assessing public opinion data, and scientific and technical studies; and engaging in other research activities. He/she should be flexible, creative, policy savvy and demonstrate a strong collaborative spirit and leadership ability. The candidate must have ten years minimum relevant experience. Undergraduate degree required. Graduate degree preferred.
