Job Description:

The award-winning Sentinel of Carlisle, Pa., (circ. 15,000) has an immediate opening for a general assignment reporter with a minimum of one to two years of daily newspaper experience. We're looking for someone who reports and writes from a reader's perspective and understands how the Internet has changed reader expectations. Promising recent college graduates with quality internships or campus newspaper experience will be considered.

Applicants should have a track record of solid enterprise and beat reporting, productivity and initiative. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. The ability to turn stories around quickly is a given. Multimedia skills ' or a strong interest in developing them ' are a plus. Night shifts and weekend work are part of the job.

Carlisle is close enough to Baltimore, Philly and D.C. for day trips and down the road from Harrisburg, the state capital. New York City and Pittsburgh are just a few more hours away.
