Internet Broadcasting is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to be part of the National Content team at our headquarters location in Saint Paul, MN. The National News Editor is responsible for selecting, writing, editing and publishing news stories that appear on more than 60 local TV news Web sites across the IB network. In addition, this editor is responsible for building or acquiring extra story elements--such as video, slideshows, surveys and sidebar stories-- to accompany news of the day. A qualified candidate would be fast and accurate in handling news stories, quick to learn new software and processes and display leadership qualities in the newsroom environment.

The emphasis in this position is on writing and editing stories for the site. This is not a web-design position or a technical position, but requires a strong journalism background and an appetite for writing and reporting the news.

Requirements:

* Accurate stories: May require double checking necessary facts in assigned projects * Must have knowledge of editing and AP stylebook standards * Work in a team setting with broadcast partners under tight deadlines * Work independently, and manage simultaneous assignments within an intense deadline-driven environment * Work with Web editing tools and catch spelling errors without electronic assistance (on hard copy)* Flexible with schedule and adaptable to constant change. May require evening and weekend hours * Effectively handle multiple tasks and frequent interruptions * Work with a positive attitude * Work well in a multitasking environment paying close attention to details

Education/Skills:

* Four-year college degree; publishing, communications, English, journalism, or related coursework * 3-5 years experience in the field of journalism, online journalism preferred, with a proven journalism track record * Strong AP style experience required * Familiarity with content management systems, basic html and online journalism production strongly preferred.
