Summary

The Associate Editor will copy edit; proofread for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage; write columns and features, help create monthly publications, and attend trade shows and press events. The AE should have interest in business and fashion with strong organizational skills and Quark required. This position is located in our Ambler Pennsylvania office.

Responsibilities

• Copyediting, proofreading and writing of columns and stories. • Responsible for building strong relationships with manufacturers for monthly business to business trade publication. • Proofread/copyedit columns and features • Participate in the production of monthly magazine • Write monthly columns and features • Represent the magazine at industry events • Maintain editorial beat

Experience and Skills

• Proofreading/copyediting skills required • Writing experience require • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and interested in developing new ideas for existing columns and new features • Interest in business and fashion trends a necessity • 2-3 years experience in magazine publishing • Time management skills required • Must understand the MAC operating system/Quark and Microsoft Word preferred • Familiarity with AP stylebook/proofreading symbols preferred • Overnight and weekend travel a must
