The Hollister Free Lance is looking for a reporter to join a small but energetic staff covering San Benito County, in the Central Coast region of California. The newspaper in the past two years has undergone a transition to a Web emphasis. So despite being a weekly in print, the paper follows a daily mentality for the Internet and offers a variety of opportunities for journalists to grow and gain experience in an array of areas. An ideal candidate will have the curiosity and patience to examine in-depth topics when needed, but also an enthusiasm for breaking news and keeping an interested community updated daily. Hollister is a beautiful city surrounded by mountains where the weather is mild just about year-round.
