Description:
The Daily Business Review seeks a reporter with experience in business and or legal coverage to cover law firms and the business of law. This reporter will be responsible for covering news and trends in the legal business and lawyer misconduct/regulation. Candidates should have AT LEAST two years of experience covering business or courts for a daily newspaper. A fundamental understanding of law and courts is required. Candidates should have a proven record of writing crisp, accurate and compelling copy on deadline, being able to grasp issues and identify trends, and have an understanding of business concepts and be able to apply them to law firms and the practice of law. The business of law beat is a critical piece of our coverage. This beat has been especially busy in the recession because of layoffs, pay cuts, summer associate program cuts and other retrenchments adopted by firms. Florida is the home of four firms on the Am Law 100 and 200 lists, and more than two dozen major firms have South Florida outposts. The Daily Business Review is an award-winning newspaper/Web site in South Florida focused on law, real estate and finance. No relocation expenses available.
