Description:
Help take an evolving Web site to the next level. The Killeen Daily Herald, a 20,000 circulation paper in Central Texas, is looking for an Online Editor who will help integrate our Web presence with a bevy of print products. The right candidate will know how to enhance and expand on the print products, not mirror what´s already in the paper. Experience designing and managing a site is a big plus, but will consider a "newshound" who understands the importance of the internet and its role in the 24-hour news cycle. The Online Editor is responsible for coordinating and producing the day-to-day content presentation, performance and maintenance of our digital products, and will push for more interactive elements. An understanding of video and image packages - how to use them, build them and promote them - is also a key element. Located in Central Texas, we are an hour from Austin, two hours from San Antonio and four hours from Dallas or Houston. Fort Hood - with 50,000 soldiers on post - is in our backyard, so the challenge is an audience that wants a little bit of everything. We offer a competitive salary, great benefits, paid vacation, sick leave and profit sharing. For immediate consideration, apply online or e-mail your resume and a cover letter to personnel@kdhnews.com. You may mail resume and cover letter to Killeen Daily Herald, Attn: personnel, PO Box 1300, Killeen, TX 76541.
