Philadelphia City Council seeks Media Fellows for Summer/Fall 2014.
Media Fellows will have the opportunity to work with all 17 members of Philadelphia City Council. Media Fellows will provide photo, video and multimedia coverage of City Council events, public meetings and announcements. Fellows will develop skills and a portfolio in media production, photo journalism, video journalism, public relations and promotion.
Fellows with extensive experience in media production could qualify for a monthly stipend. Fellows are required to work at least 18 hours per week. City Council will work with candidates to determine flexible start and end times as well as weekly schedules. Where possible, City Council will cooperate with programs under which students may earn academic credit or qualify for work-study.
Media Fellows must be an undergraduate or graduate student with strong research, writing, multimedia and organizational skills. Preference will be given to Fellows who have demonstrated interested in media production, video editing and public relations.
Candidates should be familiar with social media tools such as Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, and YouTube.
