www.hartfordguardian.com is a website published by the nonprofit Connecticut Alliance for Better Communities. We also have a presence in social media.
Interns will work closely with award-winning and highly experienced journalists.
Our mission is to provide local news, information and analysis that will foster civic engagement by informing Hartford area residents how their local and state governments works, what community resources are available and how they can effect positive change.
Our internships are designed for upper-level and graduate students as well as recent journalism/broadcast/media graduates.
We require outstanding written and digital communication skills, ambition and enterprise, and project management and interpersonal skills. An interest in urban issues is essential.
Interns will produce content for the web site and social media. This would include hard news stories, investigative pieces, features and analysis pieces.
Internships are available during the school year and the summer. The length and hours of the arrangement depend on your college's requirements. Interns must receive classroom credit for all work. The internship will be structured as well as flexible to meet individual interests.
Interns can work from home or school and must have ready access to a laptop or desktop computer and a phone.
Candidates should submit a cover letter and resume to: email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
