Newspaper Reporter Internship
The Journal Times, a 25,000 circulation daily newspaper, covers Racine County, along Lake Michigan between Chicago and Milwaukee.
We are now accepting applications for a full-time 2014 summer internship. The deadline to apply for this reporting internship is Monday, January 20, 2014.
The internship will be paid at $8 an hour.
Our interns do not get coffee, unless they want a cup. You will be working as a newspaper reporter, covering Racine County. This is an opportunity for you to accumulate plenty of bylines, work hard, have fun and learn a lot.
You will receive intensive on-the-job training, including a focus on digital journalism. The Journal Times has been a leader in mobile journalism and you will be a part of our on-the-go team. You'll also have guidance and support from experienced journalists.
We are a Lee Enterprises newspaper. Lee Enterprises is a leading provider of local news and information, with 46 daily newspapers and a joint interest in four others, rapidly growing digital products and nearly 300 specialty publications in 22 states.
Ideal applicants will be entering their senior year in college and will have writing experience with a college newspaper or other publication. Clear writing and the ability to take initiative are important.
You will be required to have access to your own vehicle, possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
