I’m a marketing specialist who plans and develops content for life science companies for purposes of education and lead generation. I’m looking for a full-time intern to help with marketing activities so I can use more of my time on content strategy and creation for clients.

I need a strong writer, researcher, and communicator who’s interested in science, passionate about marketing, and understands the principles of inbound marketing and targeted prospecting. You must be curious, results-oriented, organized, and not shy about pitching ideas and making recommendations.

You’ll start with up to one week of paid training to familiarize yourself with the tools and processes I use. Then, you can grow your professional network and build a portfolio of bylined articles while working in your PJs. Pay starts at $12/hour, which I’ll increase by $2/hour every five weeks if you meet certain KPIs.

  • Research and compile a list of highly targeted prospects using LinkedIn, Jigsaw, industry association and trade publication websites, and Google search
  • Write brief, thoroughly researched, and highly customized emails to prospects, then track responses and follow-up phone calls and emails on a CRM system (Note: you will not be making follow-up phone calls)
  • Based on an outline I’ll provide, research and write the first draft of a lead generating e-book
  • Contribute blog post ideas and manage a four-month editorial calendar
  • Write at least one blog post per week
  • Optimize, post, and promote all articles and blog posts
  • Research guest blogging opportunities
  • Join LinkedIn groups and engage your network by posting helpful comments and links to relevant content
  • Brainstorm with me on website rebranding efforts
  • Proofread copy

  • Degree from or currently enrolled in a four-year program in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, or related discipline
  • Advanced writing skills
  • Excellent online research skills
  • Strong telephone interviewing skills
  • Core understanding of technology and an interest in learning new software
  • Proficiency in the use of social media networks and tools, especially LinkedIn
  • Interest in science and medicine
  • Understanding of search engine optimization
  • Ability to acquire new knowledge and skills using self-study modules
  • Computer with fast and reliable Internet connection, headset or mic and speakers, and Skype application

  • Science background
  • Copywriting skills
  • Copyediting skills
  • Web design skills
  • Experience using Google Apps for Business, WordPress, Insightly, and Freshbooks
