PRI has an immediate opening for an experienced storyteller to join our newsroom in a part-time position as Digital Editor/Producer, PRI.org. The person in this role will be responsible for working closely each day with the radio producers at PRI’s The World to help identify sharp angles for digital pieces and develop them into compelling written copy that is appropriate for using online, on mobile, and on social channels. This is not a management position, this is a position for someone who wants to get their hands dirty every day, helping to make good radio content find its voice online. Ideal candidates will have experience in both radio and digitally-focused newsrooms, will understand how a radio show is produced and — perhaps most importantly — be an expert in what makes a story succeed online. The person in this position will have to juggle multiple tasks on a given day, and prioritize what gets done based on what has the most journalistic merit and what will have the most impact. The ideal candidate will be thoroughly comfortable with social media and can picture how a story can be translated from audio to digital and social.
