The Washington Free Beacon is seeking a staff writer with expertise in research, data mining, and public records-driven reporting. Candidates must have at least three years of experience as a reporter, researcher, or similar occupation, an interest in and familiarity with politics and current events, and an enthusiasm for finding bits of information amid large collections of data and documents.

The successful candidate will be familiar with sources of information, digital or otherwise, on federal and state governments, public officials, political campaigns, interest groups, nonprofits, and labor unions. Candidates should be able to deftly navigate websites and databases that host, among other public records, filings with the Federal Election Commission, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Securities and Exchange Commission; lobbying and advocacy disclosures; public officials' personal financial disclosure statements; and data on government spending and procurement.
